What are the characteristics of breast hyperplasia in dairy cows detected by veterinary B-ultrasound?(图1)

① Large sheet-like low echo area on veterinary B-ultrasound, uneven inside, no or less internal blood flow, no distortion of blood flow, unclear or unspecific boundaries, no obvious changes in surrounding tissues, no change or enhancement of posterior echo, and some sick animals have tenderness. This type of gland layer is prone to peripheral areas, local gland layer thickening, can be single or multiple, and can involve unilateral or bilateral mammary glands.

② Cord-like low echo on veterinary B-ultrasound: The diameter is greater than 2mm, multiple and common, and can exist simultaneously with the above lesions.

③ Cyst and (or) peripheral duct dilatation: The latter is an elliptical or columnar cystic change, single or multiple, and can also exist simultaneously with the above two conditions.

④ Small nodules are found in veterinary B-ultrasound examination, most of which are less than 2cm; except that the boundaries are clear or specific, but not smooth, the manifestations are similar to type ①; they may also exist at the same time as the above 3 manifestations. Pathologically, it is often mammary gland disease.

Measures for preventing breast hyperplasia in dairy cows:

1. Keep the cow's udder clean, insist on proper exercise, and keep the environment quiet. Use hormone-containing drugs and additives with caution. Limit the amount of animal fat and sugar-rich feed, do not feed spicy and irritating feed, and feed green and juicy feed.

2. After the discovery of breast hyperplasia in dairy cows, in addition to normal massage and milking, after feeding every night, massage the breasts 50 times on both sides of the lower part of the breasts regularly, which helps to promote the return of blood and lymph in the breasts to reduce the activity of mammary cells.

3. In the late stage of the disease, in order to promote recovery, hot compresses can be used to promote tissue blood circulation, improve the body resistance of the cow, dissipate inflammation, localize the lesions, and relieve local pain of lumps.

4. Choose Rukang tablets for human use, feed 30 tablets to each cow 3 times a day; or use Ruhe Sanjie tablets, 40 tablets each time, mix with a small amount of feed and feed 3 times a day; you can also use Ruzengning tablets, 20 tablets each time, feed 3 times a day; you can also use Rupixiao capsules, 40 capsules each time, take 3 times a day. Continue to use until the breast lumps subside.
