Pig B-ultrasound is used to diagnose sow pregnancy. The method is simple, the results are accurate, and the instruments are matched. It is the earliest, most effective and most profitable method for diagnosing animal pregnancy. It can be promoted and used in clinical and animal husbandry production. Zhengzhou Boxianglai Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. uses many years of practical experience to give a detailed introduction to the use of pig B-ultrasound in sow detection.

Pig B-ultrasound for sows:

1. Restraint: Sows generally do not need to be restrained, as long as they remain quiet. The posture is best to lie on the side, and it can be crawling, standing or feeding. For individual sows that are difficult to approach, you can use a pig grabber, a mouth rope or a door panel to squeeze into the corner for exploration. Under the conditions of large-scale pig farming, it can be carried out in a restricted feeding pen. When exploring the rectum, the sow needs to stand and be restrained.

2. Exploration site: In vitro exploration is generally on the left and right sides of the lower abdomen, the upper part of the breast in front of the posterior flank, starting from the posterior and upper part of the last pair of mammary glands (commonly known as milk bags) after insemination. As pregnancy progresses, the exploration site gradually moves forward, and after insemination, it can reach the rear end of the ribs. Pigs have sparse hair, so it is not necessary to trim the hair during exploration, but the exploration area should be kept clean. Scrape off dirt and dirt, and apply coupling agent during exploration. When exploring the rectum, it is necessary to ensure that it is fixed, and no coupling agent is required. The probe can be moistened with disinfectant.

3. Exploration method: When exploring in vitro, the probe is close to the abdominal wall. When exploring in early pregnancy, the probe is facing the front edge of the pubic bone, the direction of the pelvic entrance, or at a 45-degree angle to the opposite side. The probe is close to the skin and performs fixed-point fan-shaped scans in front and back and up and down. The movement should be slow. The embryo is very small in early pregnancy, and Doppler exploration requires careful and slow scanning to detect it. Never slide the probe on the skin for a quick scan. The A-type instrument should not move too fast when exploring the fetal sac. Sometimes the probe needs to be pressed against the abdominal wall and pressed inward to squeeze the intestinal tube to get closer to the uterus and improve the detection rate. Because before 28-30 days of pregnancy, the uterus usually has not sagged and touched the abdominal wall. After the exploration of one point is completed, the probe moves forward half a milk bag to continue the exploration until the diagnosis is confirmed.

Method of judging sows with B-ultrasound in pigs

Type B tomography scanner can observe the cross-sectional images of the sow's ovaries and reproductive tract, which is more accurate and intuitive than type A and type D. The sow needs to lie down or stand to be restrained. The probe is parallel to the body axis and slides or fan-shaped scans toward the sow's urogenital tract in the abdomen near the inner side of the hind leg or between the penultimate I-III nipples. After the bladder is detected, scan the upper part or side of the bladder. After 40 days of pregnancy, the exploration site moves forward and the range is expanded. Thin pigs are easier to explore than fat pigs. Non-pregnant pigs need to be explored on both sides, and strong echoes of the uterus and intestines can be seen.

The accuracy rate is high when the fetal sac is detected within 18-21 days after sow mating and insemination. The fetal sac can be detected 100% of the time after 22 days.

During the period of 18-25 days, the gestational sac grows rapidly, with an average daily growth of 6mm (7mm/day for humans); the growth of the gestational sac diameter (average of diameter and transverse diameter) is positively correlated with the number of days of pregnancy. The gestational sac is first observed to be round or oval, and most of them become irregular after 1-2 days, and the size of the gestational sac of the same individual is different. After 25 days, the fetal body reflection can be seen. Due to the limitation of the probe length, the size and growth rate of the gestational sac cannot be measured. After that, the fetus occupies most of the gestational sac, which seems to have the effect of expanding the gestational sac

After 40 days, the fetal body position, fetal heart rate and fetal movement can be distinguished

At 50 days, the embryo is 8mm long. In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the fetus can be detected in a large area in the lower abdomen, and the fetal position is various, including upward, downward, parallel, overlapping, etc. B-ultrasound exploration can determine whether it is implantation failure or early miscarriage. If the pregnancy is less than 5, embryonic death and embryonic absorption will affect the accuracy of diagnosis. Early embryonic death and embryonic absorption can be monitored according to the changes in the gestational sac.
