Reproductive disorder-type infectious diseases lead to postpartum mammary diseases in sows: sows infected with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus, pseudorabies virus, circovirus type 2, Japanese encephalitis virus, porcine parvovirus, chlamydia or swine fever virus, etc., give birth to stillbirths, mummified fetuses, miscarriages, premature or delayed delivery, postpartum fever and anorexia, etc., which can also cause metritis, mastitis and less or no milk. Therefore, in the process of management, using pig B-ultrasound to check reproductive system diseases is a heavy task.

Diarrhea in sows during labor or lactation: Viral diarrhea in winter and spring can also induce postpartum mammary diseases in sows. When sows eat moldy and spoiled feed, or are infected with viruses such as infectious gastroenteritis and epidemic diarrhea, pig B-ultrasound is used to check the gastrointestinal system to avoid this situation as soon as possible. Sometimes these diseases can cause acute watery diarrhea, vomiting, anorexia, and reduced lactation in sick sows. It is a necessary daily task to use pig B-ultrasound to check the digestive tract diseases of sows.

Puerperal fever (postpartum sepsis) causes postpartum mammary gland diseases in sows: during delivery, sows are infected with hemolytic streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other pathogens. The pathogens invade the blood and proliferate in large quantities, producing a large amount of endotoxins, causing sows to have anorexia, high fever, and rapid breathing after delivery. The vulva discharges reddish-brown or coffee-colored foul-smelling secretions, causing lactation disorders. When the pig uses B-ultrasound to examine the uterus, it is found that there are many foreign bodies in the uterus, and even endotoxin poisoning and death. Therefore, it is very important to prevent such diseases when using B-ultrasound for pigs.
