Standardized insemination technique for dairy cows: After estrus identification, cows can be examined with B-ultrasound for cattle. Cows that have reached the right time for insemination should stand and be secured, with their tails pulled to one side for fixation. The vulva should be cleaned and disinfected with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution or 1% iodine solution and dried. The breeder should wear disposable gloves, hold the five fingers of his left hand together into a cone, slowly insert the gloves into the rectum of the cow, remove the feces in the rectum, and then touch down with his fingers to find the cervix through the intestinal wall and grasp it, or use B-ultrasound for cattle for visual guidance, and at the same time press down the vagina with his arm to open the vulva. In the right hand, hold the insemination gun with a capillary frozen semen at a 45-degree angle upward, insert it into the vagina for about 5-6cm, avoid the urethral opening, and then insert it flat to the cervical opening. With the cooperation of the left hand, the insemination gun is introduced into the cervix, through a cartilaginous spiral fold to the internal opening of the cervix or the base of the uterine body, i.e., the bifurcation of the uterus, or the uterine horn on the side with better follicle development, and then the semen can be slowly injected. Use B-ultrasound for observation of cattle. When inseminating, the insemination gun should be withdrawn 0.5-1cm to prevent wrinkles from blocking the muzzle, and the uterus should be slightly pressed down with the left hand to make the insemination gun lower in front and higher in the back, so that the semen can flow smoothly into the uterus.

The speed of semen injection should not be too fast. Inject gently, and slowly move the insemination gun while injecting. After insemination, press the cervix gently with the left hand for a moment to strengthen the contraction of the cervix and prevent semen from flowing back, or use B-ultrasound for cattle to observe, and then withdraw the hand. After each insemination, the insemination gun and other insemination instruments should be cleaned and disinfected in time. Carefully keep records of cow estrus and breeding, use B-ultrasound for cattle in time to grasp the breeding dynamics of the herd and the estrus rules of cows, and breed at the right time to improve the conception rate.
