B-ultrasound for sheep has important applications in the rational use of rams: ① Appropriate frequency of semen collection. The frequency of semen collection should be determined according to the amount of ejaculation and the level of feeding and management. Excessive semen collection will not only reduce the quality of semen, but also damage the reproductive function, thus seriously affecting the health of the ram. After the sheep B-ultrasound examination one month before the ram is bred, semen collection and semen quality inspection will begin. At the beginning of semen collection, semen is collected once a week, and then gradually increased. By the time of breeding, semen is collected 1-2 times a day. Adult rams can collect semen 3-4 times a day, but the interval between semen collection is at least 2 hours, so that the ram has time to rest. It should be noted that hormones cannot be used to stimulate the sexual desire of rams to make them produce more semen. This will not only fail to achieve the desired purpose, but also cause serious damage to the reproductive organs and body of the rams in the long run. Therefore, after the ram semen is collected, a sheep B-ultrasound examination should be used. ② Reasonable elimination of rams. Use B-ultrasound to timely eliminate rams with low libido and poor breeding ability; eliminate rams with limb and hoof diseases, poor semen quality, small litter size, overfat or underweight, and aging rams; pay attention to the use of breeding rams, use B-ultrasound to eliminate patients in time to reduce production costs and improve the utilization rate of breeding rams.
