VETERINARY B-ULTRASOUND observation The feeding of lactating mother dogs should not only meet their own nutritional needs, but also ensure the nutritional needs of lactating puppies. Especially for mother dogs with a large number of puppies in the litter, their requirements are 3 times or more than the maintenance energy requirements. A complete, balanced, palatable and easily digestible diet should be prepared. Mother dogs often eat too much to meet the needs of lactation. If the number of feedings is not increased, they will inevitably eat too much at one time, causing indigestion and reducing lactation. Feed must be diversified, and it must be regular and quantitative. Avoid sudden changes to avoid digestive tract diseases. A sufficient amount of clean drinking water should be provided every day. The amount of feeding should be gradually reduced 3-5 days before the puppies are weaned to prevent mastitis. It is important to regularly use veterinary B-ultrasound to observe the condition of their breasts. If the puppies are found to whine, crawl around, and look for breast milk, it means that the puppies are hungry. Pressing the mother dog's breasts with your fingers, only a small amount of milk can be squeezed out, or even no milk can be squeezed out, indicating that the mother dog is insufficient in lactation. At this time, in addition to adding nutrition to the mother dog, veterinary B-ultrasound is used to observe its gastrointestinal condition. It can also feed brown sugar water, milk, etc. or boil flaxseed and feed it together with food.

The feeding method for lactating mother dogs is that generally no feed is given within the first 6 hours after giving birth, but a basin of clean drinking water should be placed, and veterinary B-ultrasound should be used to observe the condition of its digestive system. After 6 hours, feed nutritious liquid feed, such as rice soaked in broth, soy milk, etc. After the mother dog's physique gradually recovers, in addition to improving the nutrition of the feed, the amount of feed can also be gradually increased. Generally, the amount of feed can be increased by 50% in the first week of lactation, doubled in the second week, and 2-3 times in the third week. At this time, the lactating mother dog should be fed 3-4 times a day. It is also important to use veterinary B-ultrasound to check its digestive system during lactation.
