Veterinary B-ultrasound image analysis shows that insulin can improve the utilization of nutrition and regulate the reproduction and growth of granulosa cells in breeding female dogs, strengthen the induction of FSH in granulosa cells on LH receptors and steroids, and enhance ovulation. Injecting insulin to breeding female dogs in the late lactation period can reduce the adverse effects of nutritional restriction on follicular development and increase the ovulation rate. This situation can be clearly observed through veterinary B-ultrasound, which can advance estrus after weaning, while insulin growth factor and LH concentration have no obvious effect.

Growth hormones, injection of exogenous growth hormones can induce estrus in multiparous breeding female dogs and increase ovulation. The effect of reproductive hormones on follicles can be well observed through veterinary B-ultrasound. The hormones secreted by the growth hormone axis may be beneficial to the growth of follicles within a certain concentration range, while excessive secretion has an inhibitory effect, but the mechanism is still unclear. It can be judged by regularly observing the development of follicles through veterinary B-ultrasound.

The changes in follicles of breeding bitches before and after weaning at different nutritional levels found that malnutrition can change the size of normal follicles, and the variability of follicular development in malnourished dogs within 24 hours after weaning is higher than that of dogs with normal nutritional levels. Veterinary B-ultrasound observed that because immature follicles are closed 6-7 days after estrus, the decrease in follicle volume in lactating breeding bitches when they are malnourished may lead to delayed estrus after weaning and reduced ovulation. When nutrition is insufficient, veterinary B-ultrasound examination found that the volume and diameter of 2-6mm follicles of reserve breeding bitches decreased, and estrogen synthesis decreased, but there was no significant change in LH and FSH in the blood. Therefore, the effect of nutritional level on follicles may work through a pathway independent of gonadotropin. Therefore, improving nutritional level is beneficial to ovulation, but it does not affect postpartum estrus. While improving nutrition, veterinary B-ultrasound should be used to detect the follicles of the bitches.
