The absence of estrus in cows can be classified as temporary or long-term, which is related to factors such as lactation deficiency, low nutritional levels, aging cows, genetic defects, and is directly affected by pituitary dysfunction, ovarian underdevelopment, and ovarian atrophy. These functional disorders can be diagnosed through B-ultrasound examination of cows. The relationship between nutrition and reproduction is closely related. Cattle are given a standard 50% feed during their juvenile stage and are subjected to restricted feeding, which inhibits their maturation and delays their estrus. Under poor feeding conditions for a long time, the growth of cows is affected. Some cows are small at the age of 2, and when examined by ultrasound, the reproductive system such as the uterus and ovaries are small, and estrus cannot be seen for a long time. Cattle lack green feed for a long time and cannot receive vitamin supplements,

Or being in a state of stress for a long time may inhibit the functional development of the ovaries and prevent them from estrus. On the other hand, high-yielding dairy cows may have abnormal nutritional metabolism that may affect their reproductive endocrine function, leading to non estrus or abnormal estrus behavior, which can be observed more clearly on ultrasound in cows. Therefore. We should attach great importance to the breeding of high-yielding dairy cows. When cows observe the presence of a persistent corpus luteum on their ovaries using ultrasound, they show no signs of estrus. Or it may be caused by ovarian corpus luteum cyst. The corpus luteum of a cyst continuously secretes progesterone, which can inhibit the secretion of pituitary gonadotropins, preventing the development of ovarian follicles and the absence of estrus in cows. This process is more evident in cows observed by ultrasound.

Abnormal estrus in cows may be caused by malnutrition, poor feeding management, hormonal imbalances, diseases, and other factors. This type of disease can be clearly identified by ultrasound in cows. Common causes include quiet estrus, short estrus, intermittent estrus, sustained estrus, post pregnancy estrus, and excessive estrus. Most cases are caused by endocrine disorders in cows.
