B-ultrasound monitoring of frozen semen insemination in ewes
Generally, after the ewe is inseminated by frozen mating in the first estrus period, there is still no estrus symptoms in the next estrus period, and the ewe's temperament gradually becomes quiet and docile, the appetite and water intake increase, the coat is shiny, and the fat condition gradually improves. It can be preliminarily determined that the ewe is pregnant, but if you want to confirm the diagnosis, you still need to observe the sheep B-ultrasound. For ewes that are not pregnant after frozen mating, the cause should be found in time, the sheep B-ultrasound examination should be carried out, and corresponding remedial measures should be taken. If the remedial measures are appropriate and the ewe is inseminated in time after normal estrus and ovulation, generally a satisfactory frozen mating effect can be obtained. For ewes with weak constitution, grazing should be strengthened as much as possible, and the amount of concentrate feed should be increased to restore the ewes' constitution as soon as possible and promote normal estrus and ovulation. For sick ewes, sheep B-ultrasound examination should be used, and symptomatic treatment measures should be taken according to the ewe's condition.
Ewes with follicular cysts show frequent and obvious estrus. After sheep B-ultrasound examination, 10-20 mg of progesterone can be injected intramuscularly every other day for 5-7 times.

Ewes with metritis can be flushed with 38-40℃ concentrated saline solution after sheep B-ultrasound examination, and a mixture of penicillin and streptomycin can be injected, and systemic antibacterial and anti-inflammatory treatment can be given at the same time.
Ewes with persistent estrus but no ovulation should be injected intramuscularly with 5 mg of ethinyl estradiol or 4 mg of estradiol benzoate after the onset of estrus to excite the reproductive system of the ewe, promote estrus and ovulation, and shorten the estrus period. According to sheep B-ultrasound examination; on the basis of the above-mentioned drug treatment, two inseminations can be performed on estrus ewes at an interval of 8-12 hours, and 5-10 mg of progesterone can be injected intramuscularly.
