The role of B-ultrasound in inducing anestrus replacement cows
When dealing with non-estrus cows, methods to promote normal estrus of non-estrus reserve cows, eliminate reserve cows with congenital reproductive organ dysplasia, deformity, juvenile disease, intersex, opposite-sex twin calves, etc., can be determined later through cattle B-ultrasound examination.
Strengthen the cultivation of calves and growing cows. For calves with insufficient breast milk, supplementary feeding should be carried out. After weaning, green roughage should be the main feed, and concentrated feed should be appropriately supplemented according to the quality of green roughage and the body condition of the cows. And pay attention to the supplementation of calcium, phosphorus, salt and trace elements, and use cattle B-ultrasound to observe the development of their digestive organs frequently. When feeding, the types of forage should be diversified, and when grazing, the pasture should be reasonably arranged and utilized, and sufficient grazing time should be ensured.
For reserve cows that are too fat, concentrate feed should be reduced, green feed should be fed more, and exercise should be increased. Improve the environment of the cowshed, and use cattle B-ultrasound to monitor the thickness of their back fat to make reasonable arrangements: keep the reserve cows in a ventilated, dry, clean, well-lit, warm and comfortable pen. Pay attention to the estrus of cows. For cows with abnormal estrus or no estrus, as long as the reasons are found out, take corresponding measures to deal with them. For cows with latent estrus, it is necessary to strengthen the estrus test or rectal examination, and use B-ultrasound examination for cattle, so as to achieve timely breeding and prevent missed breeding.
Changing pens: Change the reserve cows that are not in estrus to a new pen, and promote their estrus by changing the environment, or raise the cows that are not in estrus in the same pen and graze in the same group with the cows in estrus, and arouse sexual excitement through the teasing of the cows in estrus. The development of their follicles can be observed by B-ultrasound.
Emergency stimulation: For reserve cows that are not in estrus, moderate hunger (i.e. reducing or not supplementing with concentrate feed) and merging pens (keeping cows in different pens together, and there will be moderate fighting between cows) and other emergency stimulations can be used to promote the estrus of cows, and use B-ultrasound to observe their status. It is necessary to pay attention to the scale of emergency stimulation.
