Management details of gilts: group management. Before the weight of gilts reaches 60kg, 4-6 gilts are grouped together; after the weight reaches 60kg, 2-3 gilts are grouped together, so that the back fat thickness can be measured by B-ultrasound and the feeding management can be carried out according to the fat condition.

In the management process of gilts, make good plans and records. Classify and manage them in batches according to the estrus date in weekly units, and make reasonable limited feeding and good feeding plans according to the back fat thickness measured by B-ultrasound. At 5.5-7.0 months of age, estrus records should be kept so that gilts that are not in estrus can be treated specially as soon as possible; gilts that are in estrus after 9 months of age generally have a short useful life and poor reproductive performance, so gilts that have not been in estrus at 9 months of age should be examined by B-ultrasound and their follicle development should be checked, and those that have no use value should be eliminated resolutely.

In the management of gilts, timely breeding should be carried out. The weight of gilts should reach 120kg at 7-8 months of age, and they should be bred in time during the second or third estrus. The Backfat thickness should be measured by B-ultrasound, and the backfat thickness should reach 16-18mm.

Health management in gilt management. Special care should be carried out in winter to prevent gilts from various diseases under cold stress. Gilts with asthma, gastroenteritis, and limb and hoof diseases should be isolated and raised separately; those that have not improved after one course of treatment should be eliminated in time. Clean up pig manure in time and keep the pig house clean; regular and strict disinfection can control the occurrence of genital tract inflammation in gilts, and use B-ultrasound to check the reproductive system of gilts in real time. Observe the pigs frequently, check the feeding situation when feeding, the breathing situation when resting, and the limb and hoof situation when exercising. Carry out immunization, deworming and drug health care in batches.
