Image analysis of sheep pregnancy and genital duct abnormalities using B-ultrasound machine
Analysis of pregnancy images of sheep using B-ultrasound machine: Negative image judgment of pregnancy in ewes: When the sheep is not pregnant and has no uterine disease, the uterus is very small and is close to the front and upper part of the bladder. The image of the uterus cannot be found in the front and lower part of the bladder. This position is occupied by the intestines, so the intestines can only be seen in the B-ultrasound image in the front and lower part of the bladder (Figure 4). Be cautious when judging negative pregnancy (i.e., not pregnant). Because the uterine area of non-pregnant sheep is smaller in the front and lower part of the bladder, it is often covered by the inflated intestines and is not easy to distinguish. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully explore and compare the uterine areas on both sides. If necessary, press the flanks on both sides to squeeze open the inflated intestines. Figure 1 Ultrasound image of the gestational sac of goats using B-ultrasound machine in the early stage of pregnancy. The dark black area in the figure is the gestational sac. The strong echo in the sac is the fetus.
Judgment of abnormal images of reproductive organs of sheep using B-ultrasound machine: Common diseases of reproductive organs mainly include uterine pyometra, ovarian cysts, hydrosalpinx, vaginal effusion, etc. In the case of pyometra, abnormal thickening of the uterine wall or thinning of the uterine wall due to uterine filling can be seen on the ultrasound section of the sheep ultrasound machine, and there are purulent echo spots in the uterus (Figure 5). In the case of colpostomy, liquid dark areas of different sizes can be seen behind the cervix on the ultrasound section (Figure 6). In the case of hydrosalpinx, liquid dark areas of different shapes and sizes can be seen in the fallopian tube on the ultrasound section of the fallopian tube (Figure 7).
