In clinical cases, when real-time veterinary B-ultrasound is used to scan the uterus of dogs, the sound and image circles of endometritis are relatively stable and can be obtained repeatedly. When performing veterinary B-ultrasound scanning, the abdomen is swept from the front edge of the pubic bone to the xiphoid cartilage with the bladder as the reference window, and then the abdomen is swept from the midline of the abdomen to both sides. Veterinary B-ultrasound examination shows that the bilateral uterine horns of early endometritis are thicker and uneven, with thick horn walls, thickened mucosa, thick cervix, and some can also see multiple small liquid dark areas; uterine fluid or uterine pyometra is shown as multiple overlapping circular liquid dark areas or low-echo bounded light groups, indicating that it is a thick tubular structure lesion. When performing longitudinal tomography on the abdomen, it presents a long, wide-diameter anechoic liquid dark area or a low-echo bounded light group with obvious walls above and below. As shown in Figure (3-10)

In the early stage of endometritis, the uterus is slightly enlarged, such as the thickness of a finger. If it is a large dog, the thicker the uterus is, the thicker the endometrium is. The uterine cavity is small. Veterinary B-ultrasound examination images show that the cross section of the uterus is "ring-like", the uterine wall is shown as a ring-shaped light band, and the inside of the ring is the image of the uterine cavity. The image varies with the contents of the uterus, showing a weak echo dark area (as shown in Figures 3 and 4) or a strong echo light spot or light group (as shown in Figure 6); the longitudinal section of the uterus is a three-layer sandwich structure. The upper and lower layers of weak echo light bands are images of the uterine wall, and the middle strong echo light band is the image of the uterine cavity (as shown in Figures 5 and 8), while some uterine longitudinal sections are three-layer sandwich structures, the upper and lower layers of the uterine wall are shown as strong echo light bands, and the uterine cavity is shown as a weak echo dark area (as shown in Figure 7).

As the disease progresses, endometritis, the uterus becomes larger and larger, and there is a sense of fluctuation when touched, and the accumulation of fluid or pus in the uterine cavity becomes more and more. On the contrary, the uterine wall will be thinner than that of early endometritis. When doing longitudinal tomography on the abdomen, it will show a long, wide-diameter, non-echoic, uniform, liquid dark area, separated by obvious walls above and below, and the adjacent deep part will show a circular liquid dark area, surrounded by obvious walls. When closed uterine pyometra occurs, it can be seen that the uterus on both sides becomes uneven in thickness, forming more than two cystic masses, with thin and smooth walls, clear boundaries, and the contents appear as non-echoic areas (as shown in Figure 10). However, due to the different nature of the contents, the echograms are very different. If the contents have many cellular components, scattered masses or scattered strong echoes can be seen (as shown in Figure 9).
