Application of veterinary B-ultrasound machine in obstetrics and disease diagnosis

1. Monitoring ovarian development in order to timely mate animals. Ultrasound Machines can be used to monitor ovarian development, determine ovulation period, and provide the best time for mating or artificial insemination. When monitoring ovarian development, the number of mature follicles can be calculated from multiple perspectives. When there are too few mature follicles (less than 5) or the number of synchronously growing follicles is small and slow, gonadotropins can be used in moderation to promote ovarian development and ovulation, increase conception rate, and increase litter size.

2. Early pregnancy diagnosis is performed using a veterinary B-ultrasound machine, which can visually display pregnancy characteristics such as gestational sac and embryo on the screen with high accuracy. The diagnosis of early pregnancy in animals using a B-ultrasound machine is mainly based on the observation of circular liquid dark areas in the uterine ultrasound section, as well as the enlargement of the uterine angle section, thickening of the uterine wall, and other indicators. The exploration method is often to use a 5 or 7.5MHz linear array or fan scanning probe to observe the transverse, longitudinal, and oblique plane sections of the abdominal bottom wall or both sides of the abdominal wall after shearing. When one or more dark areas of the gestational sac are seen, it can be judged as pregnancy. The positive rate of B-ultrasound pregnancy diagnosis is 80% 20-24 days after dog mating; It can reach over 90% in 25-30 days.

3. Monitoring of embryonic development, number of pregnancies, gestational age, and stillbirths? Predicting the number of fetuses is of great significance for feeding management in pregnancy monitoring. In late pregnancy, the nutritional level of the mother animal is directly related to the birth weight of the fetus. The application of ultrasound can observe the external structure, external shape, and internal structure of the embryo. The number of embryos can be estimated based on the number of gestational sacs and embryonic bodies; According to the ultrasound section

Predict gestational age using recognizable echo structures; Based on fetal heartbeat and embryo structure, stillbirth and emphysema can be distinguished, and embryo absorption and miscarriage can be determined.

4. Dynamic monitoring of embryo transfer? During the process of embryo transfer, animal B-ultrasound machines are mainly used for dynamic monitoring of the development of transplanted embryos. The application of animal B-ultrasound monitoring in the selection of donor and recipient sheep before embryo transfer, the determination of pregnancy in reserve sheep, the estimation of ovulation in donor sheep after superovulation treatment, and the early pregnancy determination of recipient sheep after transplantation has achieved satisfactory results.

5. Diagnose obstetric diseases

(1) Ovarian cyst refers to a pathological state in which there are follicular structures on the ovary, with a diameter exceeding 2.5cm and a duration of more than 10 days, and there is no normal corpus luteum structure on the ovary accompanied by abnormal estrus. Mainly occurring in large livestock, this disease is generally divided into two types: follicular cysts and corpus luteum cysts. The B-ultrasound results of follicular cystic disease in cattle showed an increase in ovarian volume, with cystic follicles appearing as hypoechoic liquid dark areas. The diameter of the follicles was larger than that of normal ovulatory follicles, and there was a circular hypoechoic liquid dark area inside the follicles. The walls of the follicles were thin, and the boundaries were neat and smooth. Luteal cyst disease animal B-ultrasound shows that the corpus luteum cyst protrudes slightly from the surface of the ovary, with smooth surface echoes and dark liquid areas inside the cyst. The wall is thick, and the edge of the corpus luteum cyst image is smooth with clear contours. Cotton like echoes or irregularly shaped light clusters can be seen inside, with uneven inner walls and low light spots.

(2) Uterine fluid accumulation? Canine uterine fluid accumulation is a common uterine disease. Based on the imaging characteristics of animal B-ultrasound Machines and clinical diagnosis, uterine fluid accumulation can be roughly divided into two categories: uterine fluid accumulation, thin uterine wall, low echo of fluid in the uterine cavity (dark area), and generally no clinical symptoms except for some cases of increased abdominal circumference;? Uterine pyometra, thick uterine wall, and irregular shape (elongated dark area) of the uterus with no echo. The dark area is connected to the abdominal wall or forms a uniform weak echo circular cavity.

(3) There are two situations of difficult labor: difficult labor caused during the delivery process, which occurs 12 or 24 hours after the partial delivery of the fetus, and then the delivery posture appears again. B-ultrasound examination shows that there is still a fetus in the uterus, but the mother is unable to expel the fetus, resulting in difficult delivery; It has arrived or exceeded the due date, and a small amount of fetal water is seen flowing out from the external genitalia of the dog, making it impossible to deliver the fetus. The fetus can be judged dead or alive by using a B-ultrasound machine to check for fetal heartbeat. This type of difficult delivery is more common in cases where the cervix or vaginal opening is incomplete, the fetus is too large or deformed, and should be immediately subjected to a cesarean section.

(4) Breast disease: Breast tumor has a high incidence rate in dogs and cats, especially in elderly dogs and cats. The method of using Animal B-ultrasound machine for examination has been introduced into the diagnosis of this disease. Xiong Huijun used ultrasound to diagnose canine and feline mammary tumors, proving the reliability of this method and the results are indeed accurate.

(5) Adenoid disease? The canine gland is located above and behind the bladder, with the lower wall of the gland attached to the pubic bone. Among canines, the incidence rate of * * * gland disease is high*** Adenoid diseases are more common in middle-aged and elderly male dogs over 6 years old. Animal B-ultrasound can accurately diagnose adenomatous diseases, especially adenomatous diseases such as adenomatous hyperplasia, cysts, and abscesses.
