How to measure the jugular vein of a donkey using a B-ultrasound machine
When using a B-ultrasound machine to measure the jugular vein of a donkey, the donkey should stand without sedation. The neck detection position of the donkey should be shaved, cleaned, and disinfected with 70% alcohol for the entire length of the neck groove area on both sides.
Using a B-ultrasound machine to measure the position of the donkey's jugular vein:
The middle position between the mandibular angle and the thoracic entrance is used as the standard point for jugular vein ultrasound measurement (A). For the position of the ultrasound probe, first place the probe in the transverse plane (B), and then redirect the probe to the longitudinal plane (C). All ultrasound measurements are conducted on two planes.
Method of measuring donkey jugular vein using B-ultrasound machine
Using B-mode, examine the cross-section of the vein to locate the vein of interest, then perform a longitudinal scan with the probe surface parallel to the jugular vein, followed by a longitudinal scan with the probe surface parallel to the jugular vein, followed by a longitudinal scan with the probe surface parallel to the jugular vein, followed by a longitudinal scan with the probe surface parallel to the jugular vein. At a wide distance, after freezing the ultrasound image, measure the jugular vein (i.e. from the surface of the endometrium to the surface of the endometrium) electronically in a cross-sectional scan.
For Doppler donkey ultrasound examination using a B-ultrasound machine, default adjustments were made to the Ultrasound Equipment for superficial areas. In longitudinal scanning, color and spectral Doppler examinations are performed on the jugular vein to evaluate the direction and velocity of blood flow within the vessel. Adjust the Doppler sample size to include two-thirds of the veins. In all Doppler scans, the angle between the sound wave and the direction of jugular vein blood flow remains below 60 degrees. The Doppler ultrasound examination of the jugular vein is performed along the entire length of the jugular vein groove, but the measurement is taken in the middle between the mandibular angle and the thoracic entrance. In all donkeys, the recording of Doppler spectral waveforms is done at a pulse repetition frequency (PRF) sufficient to prevent aliasing artifacts. In addition, the device evaluates the average blood flow velocity through uniform resonance technology; All spectral scans use angle correction to accurately measure speed
