Diagnosis and examination of several gastrointestinal diseases in sheep using B-ultrasound
Sheep's bloating disease: caused by excessive gas in the rumen, the left skin of the sheep rapidly swells, making a drumming sound on percussion, strong elasticity on palpation, dull spirit, loss of appetite, restlessness when lying up and down, groaning on the back, and looking back at the abdomen. Severe cases result in accelerated breathing, exhaustion, and death. When diagnosing this disease, sheep can also use B-ultrasound to examine the condition of their rumen for auxiliary diagnosis. Prevention: Feed less easily fermentable juicy materials to prevent sheep from eating spoiled or toxic grass and insects. Regularly use sheep ultrasound to check their rumen condition. Treatment: Rumen massage, oral administration of anti fermentation agents, rumen puncture for exhaust, and medication for rumen peristalsis can be performed. After treatment, sheep can undergo B-ultrasound examination.
Delayed anterior gastric motility in sheep: caused by decreased peristalsis in the anterior stomach, clinically manifested as indigestion. The cause of the disease is long-term feeding of poor quality and difficult to digest forage, or excessive concentrate with too little grass, which puts a heavy burden on the gastrointestinal tract and makes it difficult to adapt, even leading to insufficient drinking water and improper feeding methods. Grass mutations can also cause the disease. When diagnosing this disease, slow peristalsis of the anterior stomach can be found on sheep ultrasound. Sick sheep have poor mental state, weak constitution, dry nose, often lie on the ground, and their appetite decreases to the point of refusing to eat. Instead, it decreases or stops, and their stomach peristalsis slows down. Due to the decay of stomach contents, a large amount of gas is produced, resulting in mild swelling of the left genitalia, bloating, and a foul odor; Constipation and diarrhea alternate in sick sheep. Anti inflammatory, laxative, and digestive aid methods can be used for treatment, accompanied by high-quality feed therapy. And use sheep ultrasound to check the condition after treatment.
Food poisoning: caused by short-term or long-term consumption of toxic forage, with severe symptoms such as excessive salivation, upper lobe diarrhea, cessation of feeding, abdominal pain, conjunctival congestion, difficulty breathing, cold ears and nose, and in severe cases, rapid death. Targeted treatment can be achieved by using leaf inducing agents, laxatives, protecting the conjunctiva, alleviating toxicity, and expelling toxins. After treating this disease, it is necessary to use sheep ultrasound for a comprehensive examination.
