The role of sheep ultrasound in daily management of ewes
When grazing and breeding, the first step is to have summer and autumn pastures, and winter and spring grazing lands; Generally speaking, summer and autumn pastures are located in remote, high slopes, along rivers, and in shady and leeward areas (referred to as "outlet points" by herdsmen); The grazing land in winter and spring is located near the residential area (permanent greenhouse facilities), in a low slope, sunny, warm, and organic well area.
Firstly, sufficient supply of drinking water requires a large amount of water in summer and autumn, and feeding cannot be interrupted; Pregnant and lactating ewes require more water, so it is advisable to drink warm water. Pre - and postpartum ewes are prone to thirst, and insufficient water intake can lead to restlessness and lactation cessation. Adequate salt water should be given; When feeding feed with high crude protein, crude fiber, and mineral content, the water supply should also be increased. Ensure sufficient drinking water supply before and after grazing every day. And often use sheep ultrasound to detect ewes.
Secondly, the appropriate temperature has a significant impact on ewes. When the house temperature exceeds 25 ℃, it causes a decrease in appetite. When the house temperature is below 5 ℃ or above 25 ℃, the reproductive performance of ewes will be affected. We should do a good job in preventing heatstroke and cooling down in summer and keeping warm in winter.
Again, keeping the environment dry and quiet is a common season for sheep diseases (especially pneumonia) during the rainy season, especially when the amount of rainfall is rare for many years. It is important to pay attention to keeping the sheep house dry, change the bedding frequently, and sprinkle some lime or burnt mud on the ground to absorb moisture and keep the sheep house dry. Ewes are timid and easily startled, especially during childbirth, breastfeeding, and mating, which can have a greater impact. Pregnant ewes raised in the same pen can cause mutual disturbance or forced pulling, which may lead to miscarriage. Therefore, in terms of management, it is necessary to be meticulous, maintain a quiet environment, and frequently use sheep ultrasound to check pregnant ewes to see if they are in a normal state. And the fetal development and growth status should be observed on B-ultrasound in sheep.
Clean and disinfect the sheep house in a timely manner to remove feces and maintain cleanliness and hygiene inside the house. Food utensils and water dispensers should be washed regularly, disinfected with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution or boiled in water regularly, and the sheep house and surrounding environment should be disinfected with caustic soda regularly to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms in the feeding environment.
