The most direct and common cause of retained placenta in imported cows is uterine contractions after delivery, which can be detected by B-ultrasound. This is due to long-term confinement and insufficient exercise, poor quality or excessive prenatal concentrate, mineral and vitamin deficiencies in pregnant cows; Alternatively, imported cows can undergo B-ultrasound examination to detect uterine relaxation caused by factors such as weak constitution, excessive fetal water, large fetus, twin births, difficult labor, premature birth, etc.

Abnormal condition of cow placenta

1、 Immature placenta, such as premature birth, induced labor, and factors that can cause premature delivery, can affect placental metamorphosis and maturation. Immature placenta or immature placenta can affect the separation of mother and baby placenta, and can be diagnosed through imported cattle using B-ultrasound examination;

2、 It is placental congestion and edema. During the delivery process, abnormal and intense uterine contractions or rapid closure of the umbilical cord vessels can cause placental congestion, edema, and affect the separation of mother and child placenta.

3、 It is due to the excessive development of the placenta, with a few cases of placenta overgrowth. The embryo initially attaches to the greater curvature of the uterus, and the villi in the cotyledons are thicker and longer than usual, making it difficult for the villi to detach from the uterine mound. This can be clearly seen on imported cattle using ultrasound.

Imported cattle undergo B-ultrasound examination, which shows adhesion between the fetal placenta and the maternal placenta. Due to uterine infections during pregnancy, such as brucellosis, fetal Vibrio, Trichomonas, or other microbial infections causing uterine inflammation and placental inflammation, inflammatory adhesion occurs between the maternal placenta and the fetal placenta. If diagnosed by B-ultrasound examination on imported cattle, timely treatment can be administered.
