Advantages of digital imaging in veterinary B-ultrasound
The digital imaging of animal B-ultrasound has incomparable advantages over analog animal B-ultrasound imaging, which are mainly reflected in:
1. Tracking based dynamic aggregation: In digital mode, the signal entering the receiving focusing system has already been digitized, and changing the focus should not change the value of the digitized signal in principle. Therefore, only one transmission and reception are needed to form a receiving sound beam, and the number of focal points can be freely increased to achieve tracking based dynamic receiving focusing. Tracking based dynamic receiving focus can achieve that every pixel received is the focus, at least close to the focus, which greatly improves the lateral resolution of the image.
2. The method of dynamic apodization and digital apodization is relatively simple. Just multiply each element signal by an amplitude coefficient required by the apodization function before delaying and adding them together.
3. The digital detection of signals has the advantage of reducing the distortion of analog detection. For example, in the orthogonal detection method, the amplitude values of the in-phase signal component and the quadrature signal component generated by analog detection cannot be guaranteed to be equal, and the phase orthogonality will also shift. Digital detection can avoid these two shortcomings.
