Detection of changes in ovarian and follicular ultrasound images using a live egg collector before and after synchronous estrus in cows
The OPU live egg retrieval instrument detected that the ovaries grew larger over time before and after the synchronous estrus period, with an increasing rate of growth and a decreasing rate of widening. On the second day, the diameter reached its maximum value, and then returned to a new state on the third day. On the 6th day, both the length and width of the ovaries slowly increased. The diameter growth rate of the ovaries increases during the superovulation period. Developed from 3023mm on the day before estrus to around 4130mm on the third day. Before estrus, the morphology of the ovaries varies, mostly in the form of long, round, or triangular shapes; Over time, it gradually develops into an elongated or quasi circular shape. And the boundaries of the ovaries have also become blurred from being relatively clear.

The OPU live egg retrieval instrument detects that the rate of follicle enlargement during synchronous estrus is relatively slow, with the maximum diameter increasing from 8.31 ± 0.6mm on day 2 to 13.5 ± 2.1 on day 5, but decreasing to 12.1 ± 2.9mm on day 6. During the superovulation period, the rate of follicle enlargement increases, with the maximum diameter increasing from 14.5 ± 2.0mm on day 10 to 20.3 ± 4.6mm on day 12, with an average growth rate of 1.9mm/day. On the 12th day, the follicle diameter reached its maximum, reaching 34 times that of the synchronous estrus. The follicular wall remains almost unchanged during the synchronous estrus period, but rapidly thins during the superovulation period, with the thinnest reaching up to 2mm. And the boundary between the follicular wall and the surrounding ovarian tissue becomes clearer, with the highest contrast of echoes. Follicles have diverse shapes during the synchronous estrus period, most of which are oblong or nearly circular, with a few being circular triangles. They remain in a nearly circular shape on the third day of superovulation, with a few being oblong.
