Basic principles of using B-ultrasound to analyze dystocia in ewes
In addition to paying attention to the precautions mentioned in the above basic methods, the following principles must be followed to ensure the effectiveness of surgical midwifery.
1. Analysis of assisted delivery surgery with B-ultrasound instrument for sheep assisted delivery surgery should be done as early as possible. The earlier, the better the effect, especially for caesarean section. Otherwise, the fetus has been wedged into the pelvic cavity, the uterine wall tightly wraps the fetus, the amniotic fluid is completely lost, and the birth canal edema, etc., will hinder the push back, correction and pulling out of the fetus, and will also hinder the fetal cut. Moreover, if the delay is too long, the fetus will die, corruption will occur, and the life of the ewe may also be endangered; even if the ewe survives the operation, it is often unable to conceive in the future due to inflammation of the reproductive tract. Early assisted delivery of dystocia ewes, when the ewe has not yet had weak secondary contractions, after taking out the lambs that cause obstacles, the rest of the lambs can be born alive and smoothly. Otherwise, even if the obstructed fetus is taken out, the subsequent fetuses cannot be discharged smoothly. If the drug is not used in time to induce labor, all may die.
2. Preoperative examination Preoperative examination must be thorough. B-ultrasound analysis of sheep Based on the examination results and combined with the equipment conditions, the surgical plan, sequence (if more than one method is possible) and corresponding restraint, anesthesia, etc. should be carefully considered. Only in this way can a correct judgment be made; otherwise, if the operation is carried out in a hurry and the setbacks are in the middle, the sheep will suffer unnecessary stimulation and endanger the life of the fetus, which will be a dilemma. It is impossible to correct or cut off the fetus, and the opportunity for cesarean section will be missed. As a result, both the sheep and the fetus are harmed.
3. The purpose of B-ultrasound analysis of sheep is to achieve the goal of both mother and child. In some excellent breeds and breeding-age sheep, attention should be paid to preserving the fertility of the sheep in the future. For this reason, disinfection work should not be ignored during the operation, and lubricants should be used to prevent the reproductive tract from being stimulated and infected as much as possible; antibacterial drugs should be placed in the uterus after the operation.
4. Analysis of sheep with B-ultrasound instrument should attach importance to exerting the collective strength. During the operation, the space in the uterus is very narrow, and the uterine wall contracts strongly, pressing the arms; the movement of the fingers is also monotonous, and the placenta often invades between the fingers, hindering flexion and extension; at the same time, the operator usually cannot take a natural standing posture, and the operation is laborious. Therefore, in addition to preventing aimless attempts and reckless actions during the operation to avoid wasting physical strength, it is also necessary to pay attention to taking advantage of the opportunity of difficult labor and cultivating preparatory personnel so that the operation can achieve better results through the collective strength.
