Veterinary B-ultrasound is mainly used for the detection of pregnancy and diseases of livestock such as pigs, cattle, and sheep, and for prevention. Image analysis is very important during use, and it is directly related to the development and disease status of animals. The following uses pigs, cattle, and sheep as examples to analyze the different changes in veterinary B-ultrasound images.

Veterinary B-ultrasound observation of sow ultrasound images

1. Early pregnancy monitoring can be carried out as early as 18 days after mating, and the accuracy of pregnancy monitoring between 20-30 days can reach 100%. If the sow is pregnant, black spots (i.e. dark areas) will be displayed on the B-ultrasound image, and the proportion of amniotic fluid is the highest during this period, and the black spots formed are also the easiest to identify.

2. If the bladder is detected, its characteristic is that it is relatively large, and it is possible to occupy half of the area above the B-ultrasound fan. And there is only one black spot. If the bladder is detected, please move the probe slightly in front of the pig.

3. If it is uterine inflammation, there is an abscess inside, which appears as a small black spot. The area seen in the image is more mottled, one piece is black and the other piece is white.

4. If it is uterine hydrops, the image is also black, but it has a characteristic that its uterine wall is very thin. Because there is no physiological change, the uterine wall is very different.

Observation of the imaging performance of various reproductive organs of sheep by veterinary B-ultrasound

The *** section after the probe enters the rectum can show the vaginal structure and pubic symphysis below the rectum. Because the sound beam cannot penetrate the pubic bone, there is an echo-free acoustic shadow dark area below the pubic bone. The vestibular glands of sheep can be clearly shown deep in the vagina. The second section after the probe continues to move forward can show the cervix, uterine body, bladder neck and the position of the anterior pelvic opening. The bladder neck is an inverted pear-shaped liquid dark area, and the bladder wall can be clearly shown. The pubic symphysis at the anterior opening of the pelvic cavity is a strong echo band, and the posterior band acoustic shadow can clearly distinguish the boundary between the abdominal cavity and the pelvic cavity. After the probe enters the abdominal cavity from the pelvic cavity, it is scanned at 45 degrees to the left or right. The third section during the examination can show abdominal organs such as the bladder, uterine horn, ovary, rumen, and intestine. The bladder is a round liquid dark area. A solid dark area with echo points can be clearly seen in the front and lower part of the bladder, which is the echo structure of the uterine horn and ovary. The intestine is often manifested as a cloud-like strong echo light mass with an acoustic shadow behind it due to gas accumulation. When exploring after full feeding, a strong echo light band formed by the dorsal blind sac behind the rumen can be seen on the left. The solid dark area can distinguish the cross-sectional structure of the uterine horn and the oval ovarian structure with a peripheral echo band (formed by the ovarian capsule and the outer fat layer). In the ovarian solid dark area, a small round liquid dark area formed by the follicle or a corpus luteum structure with strong echo can be seen.
