Diagnosis of obstetric diseases in dairy cows by B-ultrasound and timely treatment

In the production management of dairy cows, the use of cattle B-ultrasound can timely treat obstetric diseases of dairy cows. Any cow with obstetric diseases will find it difficult to conceive without timely treatment. Regular examination with cattle B-ultrasound can restore reproductive ability once the cause is found and timely treatment is given. For example, endometritis and vaginitis can be cured quickly by flushing the uterus and injecting antibiotics for anti-inflammatory. For cattle with B-ultrasound diagnosis, 0.5% neostigmine solution 2ml/time is injected through the cervix for 3 times with an interval of 8h. During the second injection, 1000 units of pregnant mare serum are injected at the same time, which can restore the ovarian function of more than 80% of cows to normal.

How to use cattle B-ultrasound

Implement drug-induced estrus. In order to increase the mating rate and shorten the mating period, you cannot passively wait for the natural estrus of the cow. After checking the situation with cattle B-ultrasound, pregnant mare serum or triad hormones must be used to promote pregnancy for those lactating cows and those cows that have not been in estrus for a long time. However, try to use trivalent hormones as little as possible because they have side effects. Large amounts of use can cause estrus cycle disorders in cows. It is best to examine the ovaries and other reproductive organs of the cows with B-ultrasound before treatment. Practice has shown that the rate of drug-induced estrus can restore the ovarian function of more than 80% of cows to normal.

Early isolation of calves. We must create conditions, overcome difficulties, and change the past habit of long-term breastfeeding of calves after cows give birth. Generally, after cows give birth, let the calves feed colostrum for seven days, and then separate the mother and the calf. Artificial breastfeeding can promote the estrus of cows. This rule can also be found by observing the follicles on the ovaries with B-ultrasound.
